Mountain Bike Simonsberg

Overview

This Mountain biking day tour on Mouratie Wine Estate is included in the top 5 bike trails in the Stellenbosch Winelands. The new Simonsberg routes are a joint initiative between Dirtopia and local landowners, within the Simonsberg Conservancy. Ride 10km up to 20km – LOADS of singletrack with various options to ride. Today's experience caters to the novice as well as the hardened mountain biker.

Your Itinerary and abbreviations:
KM = distance cycled by bike

Get collected from your hotel and drive towards the second oldest town of South Africa – Stellenbosch. On arrival at the wine estate, we do the final bike checks then tackle any of the available routes. Basically, you’ve got a 5.5km loop on Delheim, 6.5km on Muratie, a 8.5km loop on Uitkyk, and finally a 11.5km Simonsberg loop. There are also a few linking trails and tricky downhill sections, giving just over 40km of hand-crafted trails from the Dirtopia crew. This is but the tip of the proverbial iceberg though, as hundreds of meters of single-track are being added every month, with links envisaged to at least a dozen wine estates within the immediate Stellenbosch area.

Once back at the car park, don't forget to peel your fingers from the handlebars before enjoying lunch (extra). We then load the bikes and drive back to Cape Town for the drop off at your accommodation.
KM = Depends on the route, AM = Depends on the route

NOTE: Extensions are possible, should you wish to make this a full-day excursion by combining another bike park, please mention this when making your booking. Have a look at our other mountain biking Day Tour options.
